Re-emergence of the Red Sox
One cannot talk about Massachusetts without mentioning the great sports teams that call the Commonwealth home. It has a very rich sporting tradition, stemming from the success of its teams over the years. No other organization has won more than the 17-time NBA Champion Boston Celtics. In its 65 year existence, it has produced a number of NBA legends, including Bill Russell and Larry Bird. Opposing teams have to deal with the so-called Celtic Mystique when playing in the Celtics' home floor. The New England Patriots also have a winning tradition, winning all three of its Super Bowl championships in four years. They also won 21 straight games, an NFL record, in the process. The Pats are always one of the most competitive teams in the league, a testament to their consistency as a team. Massachusetts' NHL team, the Boston Bruins, is also a successful sports franchise. The Bruins have won a total of 6 Stanley Cups, the second-most among all the American teams. There is no denying the fact that Massachusetts has experienced success in a variety of sports, but there is one thing most Bostonians would rather forget in their hometown's rich sports history - The Curse of the Bambino. The curse was broken in 2004 but it will be forever taint the otherwise perfect sports history of the state.
The Red Sox have 7 World Series titles all in all, but the 86-year wait for that 6th one was long and grueling. It all started with the sale of a Red Sox pitcher, Babe Ruth, to the New York Yankees in 1919. That started a series of misfortunes and hardships for the team, losing lead after lead, collapsing game after game, while the Yankees became one of the most successful franchises in Major League Baseball. People hid their red socks merchandise and began to give up on their hometown team rather than have their hearts broken again and again. But that all changed in 2004, when the Red Sox won the World Series and broke the curse. Not long after, the Red Sox won another championship in 2007, proving indeed the curse was gone. Fans are happy to proclaim their allegiance to their team and can be seen wearing Red Sox tshirts and caps. Many Massachusetts women also show off their hometown pride wearing phiten necklaces with the Red Sox insignia. The proud Bostonians can once again root for a championship team without the idea of a curse looming above their heads.
Massachusetts' rich tradition of domination in most professional sports is continued year after year in sport after sport. Whether it is for the Red Sox or the Bruins, the Celtics or the Patriots, the fans of Massachusetts sports teams have plenty to cheer about.

Canisters can be found in most kitchens and in just about any theme you might dream up. They come in all shapes and sizes and are easily added to the décor.
Collections are a great way to decorate a kitchen. A collection of items can quickly and easily be acquired by going to garage sales and flea markets in your area.
Clocks and cookie jars are a few of the favorites for people who have collections for their kitchen.
For an interesting accent wall place a collection of clocks on a single wall.

Colanders or strainers can make a beautiful display in a kitchen. They can be hung on an accent wall in a random pattern or from a pot rack over an island.

Top 3 Oldest Vintage Barbie Dolls
Vintage is usually known as old-fashioned or outdated. Maybe simply it is maintaining the old-style ways. There are some who appreciates it and there are some who doesn't like. We have different judgment depending on what we desire. In terms of Barbie dolls, people usually like the fashionable one. They love more new released than to buy obsolete dolls. But if you are like me who has a passion for outdated, let me share with you the three oldest vintage Barbie dolls I encountered.
- Year 1959 when the first vintage doll released. This is Barbie together with her best friend, Midge. Unlike Barbie, she was introduces year 1962. Midge is vintage doll of course. They almost have the same stand and body with Barbie.
- Same year 1959 when Vintage Barbie Ponytail Dolls released. This doll grew for about seven years and there are seven different variations as well.
- 1st and 2nd vintage Barbie ponytail dolls were issued the same date, 1959. Hair colors are the same, blonde. They have the same eyes with heavy black eyeliner, brows were blonde or brown and their lips are red. In terms of stand, 1st is black plastic disk stand with two metal prongs and 2nd is black wire stand. Their difference is also is the 1st had holes in the bottom of her feet and shoes to accommodate her stand, while 2nd doll didn't have holes and has a different stand.
- 3rd and 4th were issued year 1960. Their hair is blonde also. With blue eyes and red lips. 3rd is with eyeliner, sometimes blue but usually brown. While 4th doesn't have.
- 5th was issued year 1959. With blonde red hair, blue eyes, and red lips. This is the first Barbie who has a hollow body.
- 6th and 7th dolls were 1962. Their hair color is different, blonde or red or brunette. With blue eyes like other vintage dolls. Plus their lips are different from other, they have coral lips. They have lots of differences especially when it comes to their legs.
- Last old vintage dolls is vintage Barbie bubblecut doll and released 1961. This time, Barbie has a new look and it was said to have an influence with the 1st American lady Jackie Kennedy. This doll was known for six years. And for six years, Barbie's hairstyle keeps on longing.
So if you are influenced by my writing and find some interest with vintage dolls, why don't you try to look for more on Barbie's site to find her old-fashioned outlook. If you want to be unique and want an own style of Barbie, then this is what I suggest.

Workbench Designs -- The history Of Wood Workbench
The workbench is the cornerstone of the wood shop, with a history almost as old as woodworking itself. Examples of primitive workbenches have been found dating back more than 2,000 years. Woodworkers in ancient Rome advanced the basic design, devising benches with simple stops that allowed them to secure pieces of wood. Until that time, craftsmen were forced to hold their work, cutting or shaping it with one hand while chopping or planing with the other. Further improvements came slowly, however, and vises were only added centuries later.
With each refinement the workbench has assumed an increasingly indispensable role in the workshop. It is little surprise that many call the workbench the most important tool a woodworker can own.
A good workbench does not take an active role in the woodworking process-it does not cut wood or shape it-but the bench and its accoutrements perform another essential task: They free your hands and position the work so you can cut, drill, shape, and finish efficiently. In the past, even the mostused benches have fallen short of the ideal. With its massive, single-plank top, the Roubo Bench of the 18th Century was popular throughout Europe, yet it had no tail vise or bench dogs to hold a workpiece; instead, the task was done by a system of iron holdfasts and an optional leg vise. One hundred years later, the American Shakers improved on the Roubo. Their bench was a large affair that sported a laminated top, a system of bench dog holes, an L-shaped tail vise, and a leg vise. The Shaker bench was not too different from the modern cabinetmaker's bench.
The design of the workbench has changed little since the early 19th Century; only its accessories and manner of assembly have been altered. In fact, some claim that the only true innovation has been inventor Ron Hickman's ubiquitous Workmate. Developed in the 1960s, the Workmate revolutionized the way many people look at work surfaces, because it provided some of the clamping abilities of a standard workbench with a collapsible, portable design.
Although the Workmater has found a niche in workshops around the world, many woodworkers-both amateur and professional-still opt for nothing less than a solid maple or beech bench. Often they choose to build their own, believing that the care and attention paid in crafting such a bench will be reflected in their later work.
