Get Hundreds of Free Nintendo DS R4 Cards Game - Nintendo DS Homebrew Makes it Possible
When I first attempted trying to learn everything about Nintendo DS Homebrew, I was fascinated by the concept that there were hundreds of games and applications available for my Nintendo R4 DS - Absolutely FREE! I have to admit that I had no idea as to what Homebrew software was. I read about it in online Nintendo DS forums, and kept hearing about interesting and sometimes amazing homebrew applications and homebrew games that I could simply download for free and play them on my Nintendo DS or DS Lite.
The reality of cost free video games and applications would be exciting to any gamer, and I am definitely no exception to the rule. So, just what is homebrew? A NDS Lite homebrew game is software written by clever game designers for the Nintendo DS handheld. A very large number of the games being of the highest quality. Homebrew greatly increases the functionality of the DS. And boy did I dig up video games. A number of the homebrew Nintendo DS Games are lower quality, but a vast majority of them would make even the best commercial games jealous.
After spending my time searching for more information and I spent most of a full week doing nothing but research, and lots of homebrew game downloading, I realized that what I needed to buy was a device that allowed me to store and then play all of the homebrew software that I now had sitting on my PC hard drive. From my research I discovered that there are some 15 or 20 homebrew / development and flash kits available for the Nintendo DS and the Gameboy Advance. One of the most popular units was the Supercard SD and a very new one, called the M3 DS Simply. These little devices are touted by homebrew gamers as the easiest to use, and most affordable Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS media managers / development systems.
If you have a Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS Lite hand held systems, I would recommend the Supercard SD because the Supercard SD can also be used on your Gameboy Advance. And there are literally thousands of homebrew games and applications available for the Gameboy Advance system. Nintendo DS Homebrew will catch up to those numbers too, and perhaps will have even more free games and applications.
Where do you find all of these free applications and games? Just fire up your internet browser and go to your favorite search engine and type in either NINTENDO DS HOMEBREW or GAMEBOY ADVANCE HOMEBREW and you'll get a list pages and pages long of websites that talk about, cater to, or just plain carry all of the latest FREE homebrew software. It's almost an adventure really. And I would not be surprised if some of these hombrew programmers end up being commercial game programmers in the very near future. The quality of the games is just that good!
Both the Supercard SD and the M3 DS Simply / R4 DS do much more than just play homebrew Nintendo DS Roms. They play movies, mp3 music, allow you to check out your latest digital photos in the JPEG picture format that most digital cameras use. Both of these units also allow you to read ebooks right on your Nintendo DS screen in the form of TXT documents. Now, when I say movies, I really mean movies. With the included software you can convert your DVD movies to play on the Supercard SD or the M3 DS Simply, and watch your movies on the go.
The Supercard SD (SD stands for Secure Digital) and the M3 DS Simply both have an advantage over many development kits. The Supercard SD uses low cost Secure Digital memory r4 cards, for unlimited storage capacity, whie the M3 DS Simply uses microSD cards. You can easily find SD and microSD cards at any electronics store such as Radio Shack, BestBuy and even on eBay if you want a bargain and can wait a few days to get the item in the mail. I make reference to an advantage because almost all other flash kits have built in memory. While this can be a good thing, it does hold you back when you're looking for extra storage for movies, games, or applications.

Hit me with your Memory Stick
Why are people just as likely to have a Memory Stick key fob as they are to be carrying a mobile phone these days?
The answers are clear, if a little convoluted.
We live in an information rich society with digital data flying at us in all manner of formats. Complimenting the more conventional means of relaying information such as terrestrial broadcasting via radio and TV we now have access to video clips on the internet via sites like Youtube and social media websites as well as podcasts and static information formats such as pdf's and jpegs. Consequently, there is an incredible wealth of downloadable information on the internet which has ultimately changed the way in which we conduct fundamental aspects of our lives. For instance, our spending habits have been significantly influenced by this shift in data availability. The internet has allowed data to move from immutable proprietary platforms to a much more fluid base, and developments in hardware and consumables allow us to retrieve this information in ever more varied ways.
For example, the ownership of music has changed beyond all recognition since the advent of internet downloads. We no longer need to physically go to a store and buy music tracks and albums along with the storage device, formerly vinyl records and more latterly CD's and mini disks.
Perhaps one of the key reasons that mini disks did not endure is because of this shift in spending habits. Internet downloads meant that we were much more likely to opt to use CD's, which could be used in conjunction with out computers as well as our music players, a reality that ultimately sounded the death knell for a format that was not as equally versatile, despite the superior sound quality that min disks offered us. CD's would have met the same fate when technological advancements gave us MP3 players, customised music mobile phones, like the old Sony Erikson's, and the more recent multimedia devices like the iPlayer, had we not grown so accustomed to using them. This coupled with the fact that recordable CD's are incredibly cheap compared to other means of storage has definitely extended their life-span. Nevertheless, times are still changing at a rapid rate, with technological developments of other media constantly closing the price gap. The diminishing costs of memory sticks and SD cards, coupled with their exponentially enhanced capacity and portability, is making CD's an increasingly less desirable option.
Music piracy has also extended the life of the use of CD's. The fact that we are able to use recordable CD's for duplicating music, which were originally intended for industry use and for storing general computer files, has maintained some of their appeal. We are still much less likely to store our music files on a memory stick to share with a friend than we are to quickly burn off a disk that we can seamlessly hand over in the pub. But it won't be long before the tipping point is reached. Memory sticks, with their diminishing costs and increased capacity are clearly set to dominate the future. Similarly, the 2GB high memory density SD cards that offer an impressive non-volatile memory solution, coupled with being eminently portable, will mean that multimedia players will comfortably outlive the use of CD's by a long chalk.

What are the essential things to be looked into before buying Graphics cards
The role of graphics cards in your computer cannot be undermined, particularly if you are used to working with video contents, 3D games and graphics. These cards are well placed in an expansion card slot in a computer and are designed to process different image data and output it back to monitor. A typical graphic card consists of a memory chip, graphics processor and a RAMDAC through which output is displayed. However, modern day graphics cards are known to accommodate SLI, TV output and video capture as well. If you are contemplating buying these cards, make sure that certain essential things are looked into carefully.
You first need to find out whether you need a graphic card for handling 2D images or 3D images and make your decision based on it. For most 2D requirements, integrated graphics solutions will do. And for this, low-cost solutions can be sought for. However, if you intend to handle 3D graphics and images you may have to into higher-end cards that will offer you with better image quality and increased frame rates. Therefore, in this regard, the difference between high-end and lower-end cards can make all the difference for your purpose, both in terms of performance and cost.
The graphics cards that are seen today include an essential component called Graphics Processing Unit. This small microchip is responsible for providing memory and algorithms to process bigger and complex images. This is also intended to reduce the CPUs workload considerably and thereby enabling it to work efficiently and faster. Many graphics cards are available today that come with different processing power. They are all capable of refreshing images to greater levels and can create deep images at lower resolution, calculate shadows quickly and eliminate any possible pixilation.
Among other specifications that need to be looked into is Processor lock speed, Memory size, and Memory bandwidth. GRUs rendering capacity largely depends on Processor lock speed and this can be measured by number of pixels processed per clock cycle. The memory capacity of these cards can be up to 512MB. Greater the memory capacity better you will be served with these graphics cards and vice versa. Similarly, Memory bandwidth of graphics cards needs to be on a higher side for greater rendering speeds and for faster transfer of data.
You can also look into the Shader models in your graphics cards as they will control the appearance of images on the screen. They are effective in creating visual effects like fog, reflection and multi-layered shadows. The Fill Rate too needs to be looked into while buying any graphic card. It is the rate that determines the speed with which images are painted or rendered on screen. This rate is generally indicated in texels per second. Depending upon the need you need to choose a graphic card that has an appropriate Fill rate to help serve you better. Anti-Aliasing, DVI, Dual-head, SLI are other specifications that you need to look into for making a wise decision on your graphic card.
