Discover the Serious Side of Promoting with Fun Inflatable Parade Balloons
Parades have always been one of the best ways to generate excitement. Usually centered on a holiday such as Veteran's Day, July 4th or Thanksgiving, this fun gathering of the masses is a tradition that goes back well over a century. But savvy business owners and organization managers will take note of one fact: A parade equates to a captive audience. And don't we all just love a captive audience?!
3 Important Strategies for Making the Most of Parade Exposure
Can you imagine anything better than for an entire city or town to line the streets just waiting for you to pass by? But your moment in the sun is short lived, so you'll want every second of your time spent strolling down the street to count. Allow me to offer a few tips for making the most of your parade floats and the event as a whole.
#1 - Create Eye-Popping Parade Floats
This is what everyone has come to see, so you don't want to skimp on your presentation. Whether you go for parade floats on wheels or inflatable parade balloons that soar overhead, you'll want to use big sizes, bright colors and eye-popping designs, so you immediately hook each person's attention as you pass by. Company mascots make for excellent parade balloons as do inflatable costumes and product replicas.
#2 - Bring Giveaways
Most parades these days won't allow you to toss candy or other goodies from your parade floats due to safety concerns. However, you can still walk over to the crowd and hand out giveaways. Come prepared and be creative. You'll want something fun that is well branded. This is a parade after all, not a networking dinner. Inflatable product miniatures, balls, key chains and more are very likely to be kept and used which means your organization's name stays in front of the customer longer.
#3 - Drive People to Your Business
The most successful marketing campaigns are circular in nature. This means they bring the customer 360 degrees. Promote your appearance on your website, in your TV and radio spots and in your print marketing. Then, as your parade balloon travels down the route, hand out giveaways. But don't stop there. Attached to your giveaway, include an offer for a discount, a free upgrade, x% off a membership or some other incentive for the parade watcher to come back to your business. Now that's smart marketing!
Start planning now. Holiday parades occur about every three months or so. There are also high school and college homecoming parades, military parades and others. Each will require you to have a parade float or balloon to participate. Choose an event that most closely aligns with your target customer and you're sure to have a blast while drumming up some business.

Fireworks Festivals
Every country has its own string of fireworks festivals – in fact, there is not a single country that doesn't use fireworks in its celebrations of festivals and national holidays. The United Kingdom is one of those countries which use a lot more fireworks than other countries; not only does the country use fireworks in carnivals, illuminated festive shows and parades, but it has its own line of National fireworks competitions.
Guy Fawkes Night
Of course, one of the biggest fireworks nights is the Guy Fawkes Night held on November 5 every year; the significance of this festival is attributed to the fact that there was an attempt at murdering King James I with the help of gunpowder which was foiled incidentally on 5th November, 1605. This is the biggest fireworks festival celebrated in the UK – you can see lots of aerial fireworks being set off every year apart from individuals setting off indoor fireworks in their houses.
The biggest of all events for Guy Fawkes is held at East Sussex – it's called the Battle. This tradition has been happening for over three centuries and people come in different costumes and light firecrackers. Here, you would be able to find a horde of clowns, matadors, Genghis Khans and pirates all trouping together for one common purpose – fireworks. The second biggest event would have to be Sheffield, Yorkshire – ranging from sparklers and Roman Candles, all sorts of fireworks displays are entertained at this venue rightly called the Don Valley Grass Bowl. Food, stalls and bonfire are all what this event is about.
If you're in for a tar-barrel rolling contest, you should check out St. Ottery at least once. People carry heavy flaming barrels of tar and haul them through streets. The last barrel at midnight is the grand big barrel. Fireworks and bonfires are also present in this event.
Other major festivals
Halloween is also another festival that uses fireworks – Northern Ireland celebrates this festival in a more extravagant way than Guy Fawkes Night. Rockets and aerial fireworks fill the sky of Northern Ireland on Halloween. Apart from Halloween, the New Year's Eve and Christmas are much celebrated events in the country, though most fireworks displays are commercial. It's still great fun to watch Christmas crackers from the seacoast.
As is the case with most other countries, there are separate guilds across the length and breadth of the country which meet at regular intervals and involve in pyrotechnic displays. There are people across the continent that come together on a common platform – cheap fireworks ; whether it is wedding fireworks or bottle rockets, it impresses people.

Fireworks and sports celebrations
Ever since the Chinese invented fireworks, people have been acknowledging them as one of the best ways to show that they are happy. Joy and happiness are what these sparks of fire indicate. Fireworks has always been associated with important opening ceremonies of world sports events. Whether it is the Olympics, World Cup Football or any cricketing event like the Ashes tour or the Down Under tour, fireworks mark the beginning of celebrations and excitement. There is nothing like a good fireworks display to open the curtain on a world event.
Looking at the wealth of world sports bodies, one can imagine that it is not going to be some ordinary and cheap fireworks displays. You can also imagine that the displays are going to be more spectacular than any Christmas crackers or wedding fireworks you have seen. Surely the biggest sporting events in the world demand the best displays of celebration and it is a fact that people assemble at these stadiums on opening ceremonies – some of them to just witness the fireworks. In some of these sporting events, even the players become part of the celebrations. Olympics is one event where an expert archer lights the flame from a distance using a lighted arrow.
Many people choose to buy fireworks online and celebrate once their favourite star or team has won. Sometimes, you would find that before the opening ceremony, fans look for the cheapest fireworks for sale so that they can celebrate in their own locality or premises.
As you can imagine, it is not the everyday sparklers and Roman candles that you see in small festivities that are usually seen in big celebrations. People come here for something big and that is what they get. In these illuminated displays, rockets and Sierra bombs are usually just the beginning of a great display.
The iconic temples of world sports have hosted some of the greatest outdoor and indoor fireworks displays. For instance, the Oval cricketing stadium has been reported to have one of the biggest display of fireworks in the game while Madison Square Garden of New York has had the most frequent fireworks display in the world – especially because different events like basketball and wrestling matches are played there regularly.

Corporate Event Ideas for Maintaining Corporate Event Planning Budget
Recently, I produced an event for a long time client and thought I would share some corporate event ideas that I used during the process of planning this event. I find planning corporate events just as challenging as planning any other type of event and here are a few tips to think about when considering corporate event planning.
Like any other event, determine a budget when planning corporate events and follow it through. It seems across the board corporate event planning budgets have decreased, and in the case of this event, I suggested to the client that we even cut the budget more than in previous years as a start and then if need be, add to the budget later. Our strategy worked since it seems that vendors as well as event planning providers understand that there are less events happening and are more willing to work within the budget you provide and still help create an outstanding event.
One of the corporate event ideas I discussed with my client and which also helped keep our budget costs down was to bring in our own wine. We weren't crazy about the list of wines offered at this venue and thought why not buy the wine and pay the corkage fee. Thus, we would be serving wines to our liking while saving money (we saved over $500 plus sales tax).
Other corporate event ideas we used to keep our budget costs low were to shorten the length of our cocktail hour from an hour to 45 minutes and also to hold the event earlier in the evening on a Sunday night. By shortening the cocktail hour time, we didn't serve as many appetizers which were charged on a piece-by-piece per person cost, and we also cut down on the amount of cocktails served during the shortened time period. Holding the event on Sunday can save you money when planning corporate events because at most sites, especially restaurants, Sunday is a slower night especially early Sunday eve and you might be able to negotiate a better rate.
When planning corporate events, think about the timing of the event itself and how to use the time period of the dinner portion effectively. This is another one of the corporate event ideas we put to good use. Since we held the event at a steak house and all dinners were cooked to order, we had quite a delay between our first course and the main course. Thus, we used this extra time by honoring those people in the company who were receiving promotions. Keep in mind with corporate event planning, you still want the event to move thus be sure to set time limits with your speakers.
Summertime company picnics and events are near, and I hope you can implement some of these corporate event ideas during your corporate event planning process. Planning corporate events still require careful consideration especially with budgets, and there are many creative ways to help you keep those budgets in check. Until next time, remember the Budget Bash mantra: make it simple, stylish, fun and economical to all!
