Im going to make a quilt pillow...?
I think for my best friend's Christmas present I am going to sew her a pillow and have there be a quilt pattern. It is gonna be like a throw pillow. What should the measurements of the squares I cut out be? I have never made a quilt before or anything like this. Got any ideas or advice? Thanks much.

The first question I have is this.... what size pillow do you want to make? Small throw pillow, regular bed pillow, or large body pillow?
Depending on the size, your squares can be bigger or smaller, to make a pattern you will enjoy. I usually stay with about a 5" x 5" square.
Decide what size you want your squares to be on the finished project, and then add an inch for seams. A 5" square will usually yeild a 4" square after piecing and quilting.

What happens if you have a chronic illness requiring very good insurance, lots of treatment, but may divorce?
I have a chronic illness that is thankfully covered quite thoroughly by my husband's medical insurance. We have separated. If he divorces me, and I lose the coverage, I will have a huge pre-existing condition (plus I'm unable to work full time) that no company will cover. I would not be able to afford insurance OR treament without insurance. I'm afraid I'll end up in "the system," with free clinic type of services, which of course are patchwork at best and will worsen the course of my illness. Can I somehow work it out so that he must continue covering me? Please help, or point me toward a resource!
I don't know of any way around this, if he drops you from his coverage. Unless you have it written into the divorce decree that he has to keep coverage for you.

How to Choose the Sexiest Wedding Lingerie
With all of the planning and obsessing that goes into your big day, wedding lingerie is one little detail that can get overlooked. You're so busy choosing just the right dress, veil, and hairdo that sometimes it's hard to remember that there are some basic foundation pieces that need to go underneath the chiffon and tulle. You'll probably feel more beautiful than you ever have before on this special day, and that feeling should extend all the way down to your sexy bridal lingerie.
Wedding lingerie can take a couple of different forms. First of all, there's the garments that you will wear during the wedding itself. These will be based on both your taste and the style of wedding dress that you choose. Let's say you have a strapless gown. If that's the case, then you're going to need a strapless bra or bustier to give your bust lift and shape. Some brides opt for a corset so that they can achieve just the silhouette they desire.
When choosing a bra or bustier, make sure to try it on with your gown before and after alterations have been made. Wear your wedding lingerie when getting fitted for alterations so that the seamstress is sure to get exactly the right fit. When you go to pick up your dress, try it again to make sure the lines all fall in the proper places. This will also help ensure that there isn't any part of the undergarments that peeks out of your dress. While you want your lingerie to be beautiful, you probably only want you and the groom to actually see it!
The second type of wedding lingerie is the one you wear on your wedding night. This is the one that most women tend to spend the most time choosing. Women want it to be sexy and special, yet stick to the traditional white or off-white color, but the choice is entirely up to you. Since this wedding lingerie will not be seen by anyone else, experimenting with different patterns or colors is perfectly acceptable as long as it's something that makes you feel sexy and comfortable.
Whether you're looking for wedding lingerie to wear before or after the ceremony, you'll want to take the top into consideration when choosing the rest of the outfit. If your bustier has garter straps, for example, then you will want to purchase thigh-high stockings instead of pantyhose. A lot of erotic lingerie tops come with thong bottoms, so if you don't feel comfortable wearing a g-string during your wedding (or on your wedding night), then you're going to want to shop for a different pair of panties that match your bra or bustier.
Finally, make sure that any wedding lingerie you wear under your dress isn't too bulky. If your gown is a lightweight shift-type dress, then a full bustier might actually detract from the dress. The same is true for pantie lines. You want a nice, smooth look so that only you and your groom know what's going on underneath.

Baby Quilt Projects and What Size to Pick
When making a baby quilt or baby blanket, there is the dillema of what size a proper baby quilt should be. While there is no legal rule set in stone when it comes to setting the size of a baby quilt or baby blanket, some thought should be put into the dimensions of the quilt before undertaking a project like this.
When deciding on the size and dimension you would like the baby quilt you are making to be, you may want to consider such things as the size of a standard baby crib as this is one of the ideal places where the baby quilt will be used.
The most common size and dimensions of a baby crib bed or matress is 36"x52". If you would like the baby crib to fit the baby crib, you may want to take those dimensions into consideration when planning your quilting strategy.
Another factor worth consideration is the age of the baby. Healthy babies do grow at a steady and speedy rate, so making smaller baby quilts and baby blankets may not be what you would want to do. If the baby is a newborn, how long do you want the baby quilt to last?
Baby Quilt Sizes
Although size should be considered, do not worry about measurements too much. There are much more important aspects to fret about when making a unique baby quilt. But here are some sizes that are commonly used:

Those dimension listed above should be more than enough to give you an idea of what you size you would like to create. The 32"x40" size should fit a baby crib mattress nice and snug while the 60"x60" size will allow room for the baby to grow and when the child becomes a toddler and perhaps older, the 60"x60" will still be more than ample for use.
However, no matter what size or dimension you choose for the makings of your baby quilt project, the baby quilt will be unique and memorable because it is gift from you. The pouring out of your heart and soul into the making of the baby quilt is really what should matter.
