Quilting Is Easy With Complete Kits
Quilting was once a very detailed process. Women spent months working on an elaborate quilt with friends and using scraps from old clothing to complete their patterns. Today, quilting is not nearly as difficult. The hard part of quilting is all but eliminated with the use of easy quilt kits from Whims Inc., whose designers make us all look talented. Watercolor quilt kits including precut 2-inch watercolor fabric squares, and pre-marked quilt fuse that can be used to create a homemade yet high quality quilt. A straight stitch sewing machine and clothes iron are the only pieces of equipment needed to assemble the background and border of most quilt kits. Also included are appliqu patterns with precut pieces and Steam-A-Seam 2. This innovative product is an adhesive on one side and fuse on the other. This allows for the rapid attachment of appliqu pieces in a pleasing pattern and is applied by ironing onto the background of the watercolor quilt. Finishing can be easily accomplished according to the quilt kit's directions. Usually, this involves going over the secure pattern with topstitches. Lovely quilts are easy to make with these modern quilt kits.
These antique quality works of art increase in value as they are handed down to future generations of craft lovers. Imagine a great-grand-child having these century quilts appraised and then beaming with pride and admiration for the efforts of his or her revered ancestor-you! Or, consider the auction price that these quilts will earn in fifty years when you decide to move into a smaller home. We all have honored even the most humble of antiques, and these quilts will one day have the same special place near someone's home and hearth. Keep that in mind as you learn the methods of quilting by watching a video guide of the steps, which is available at Whims Inc.'s website. This is a simplified version of the quilting process that provided warmth and beauty in simpler times, but still produces excellent results.
People who are looking for another option when it comes to quilting can find just what they are looking for in easy quilt kits. Many of the patterns look just as complex as the finest professional quality quilts but come with detailed instructions and precut fabric. Watercolor quilt kits in particular are created to have the appearance of fine art when viewed from a distance. Finished quilt kits look extremely complicated, but only you will know how easy quilt kits have made the process of making a quilt. Prices range from $14 for smaller wall hangings, bags, place mats, and table runners. Full sized bed quilts cost about $250. Anyone who shops in craft fairs or stores will realize how low this price is compared to those of finished quilts. Still, these easy quilt kits save hours of time becuase they include appliqu patterns and precut the pieces. Anyone who has beginner's sewing and craft skills will be able to complete these quilt patterns in a reasonable time. It is time to sew!Written by SiteSolutions.com - Search Engine and Social media Optimization - For Whims.cc

Creating a Flower Basket
We have walked through the steps of creating the May basket, now it is time to craft your flowers. We have added handles, basket, etc, to your quilt, which at this time you should have created six blocks to make your basket.
How to create flowers: We are quilting flowers. On the left side of your fabric, you will have invented pink squares. You can trace your pattern to start your project. Trace at least one flower (Choice), use your outside solid lines, and repeat your steps to create the foliage, or leaves. Use the variety of green patterns and use the yellow narrow pieces to create the center of your flower.
You can design roses if you like. Use a variety of greens, red, pink, white, etc, if you intend to create roses and petals. Along the lines, you have marked, cut the fabric strips sewn onto your fabric, the shaped patterns that form your design, cutting only near the lines. Use freezer paper and turn it over so that you reveal the side that does not have a shine. You want to create a starting line for the six centers of your flowers, and the flowers also. Once you mark the 12 parts, mark the leaves (12), marking them inside the dash lines. Now you are ready to cut your shapes.
You will need an iron and board. Use your hot press, or iron to press the flowers on your paper, pressing in the middle of your flowers on the left side and in the middle. You want the glossy paper turned in the direction of your fabric flower at this point. Do the same with the center of the flowers and foliage.
Next, collect your yellow filament/thread and tone it with the center of your flower. If the colors do not match, try another shade of yellow. Run lines of stitches into your cloth, which encloses the ring of the freezer paper. You want to congregate your material around this ring, so pull your filament up at the end. Now, tie your thread, press the ring, and use your starch bottle, spraying the region. Do the same for the center of your flowers.
Next, use your variety of green filaments that match your leaves and collect the allowances at the seam. (1/4 inch) Collect around the foliage and streamlines of stitches along your fabric, about the enclosed region of your ring that is designed on the freezer paper. You want to collect your textile about the ring. Pull your filament/thread up at the finish and tie it, pressing the ring. Again, spray with starch.
When you congregate your allowances at the flower seams, snip the inner points of the flower corolla/petals where the flower collectively forms a ring. You will need to collect your thread that matches the color of your petals, such as pink. Just as you collected the edges of your leaves, do the same for your corollas. Once you finish running stitch lines in your fabric, which you have enclosed freezer paper about the ring, you will need to gather your material about the ring. Next, pull your strands of thread up at the finish. Next, bind your filament and then press the ring. Press, and spray the region with fabric starch. Now seam your allowances, I.e. snip the central points of the leaves, flower center, etc where the flower collectively forms a ring. Press and starch to complete your crafting task:
Now you are ready to assemble the top of your quilt. After you assemble, you can move to finish your craft.

Specialty Copywriting: How to Select the Right Niche Market for You
In times past, copywriters typically wrote for niches with a high need and heavy respect for copywriters. The obvious places to look for work were direct marketing agencies, corporate marcom (marketing communications) departments, and publishers, to name a few.
But today, work opportunities for copywriters have expanded greatly. That's because clients became tired of unaccountable general advertising and pushed their agencies to do more direct response. Over time direct marketing became mainstream and shed its image as the "ugly step sister" of image advertising.
And while there's still a tendency to look to traditional markets for work - insurance and banking, technology and publishing, non-profit and health - it really pays to think out the box.
For instance, one of my students is blending her literary talents with her copywriting skills to offer a unique solution to a market we've dubbed "the passion marketers." This group of marketers can use her considerable ability to craft stories that sell.
Another coaching student lives in Belgium, speaks several languages, and has a rich understanding of cultures. For him, we're developing a target list of multi-national corporations that will value his unique ability to write copy that's "localized" to different cultures and countries.
Each of my students niches into a market that will value their unique talents, backgrounds, education, knowledge, and/or experience. Sometimes that experience leads us to a "traditional" niche rather than one we create ourselves. In this case, my students often niche "deeper" into the niche in order to make the connection between their unique talents and the needs of the potential client.
A great example is David A., who recently finished my coaching program. David came to me with the desire to build a copywriting career that would allow him to pursue his passions for fine wines, cultural foods and European travel.
David's copywriting style and philosophy made him an excellent candidate for niching into the publications world. However, there are an incredible number of publications treating as many subjects. By looking at David's unique interests, talents, and background, we determined that he should niche more deeply than just "publications."
Today David is building a unique business as the copywriter for publishers, marketers, and organizations that sell fine foods, wines, and entertaining.
When new coaching students come to me they often think they must pull from past experience when determining the right niche market for them. This is only partly true. Some of my students loathe the idea of using skills and knowledge from previous careers because that's what they want to get away from.
I explain that we can pull from three areas of their life to structure a profitable niche market: their past work experience, their passions, and their copywriting talents.
For instance, Gary C. wanted to niche into the diet aids and nutritional supplements markets. For him, we focused on a special copywriting talent this niche would value highly: that of being able to get and use extremely powerful testimonials.
Another past student didn't want to use her advertising background, so she decided to follow a passion: that of quilting (she's a fifth generation quilter). Although I'm not sure if she continued her path, we did determine that the quilting market is very large, and we also agreed that she could very well be the only copywriter in the entire world serving that niche.
Niching into a desirable market not only allows the copywriter to position him or herself as an expert, and therefore gain better clients at higher pay, but it also provides that thing that so many crave, but that so few have: meaningful work that fuels the imagination and feeds the soul...while also growing the bank account.

Quilting Gadgets Simplify the Process
Quilting has changed over the years, thanks mostly to the development of various quilting gadgets. Rotary cutters simplified fabric cutting and make it more accurate than scissors. In addition to ease and accuracy, the rotary cutter eliminated the blisters scissors can create on the thumb and finger! Something so simple has proven to be a revolutionary quilting gadget.
Speaking of revolutionary, today's quilting has really benefited from computers. Computerized sewing machines are a big change for today's quilter. The ¼ inch presser foot and a walking foot have become standard quilting gadgets on many sewing machines.
Once upon a time, machine quilting as reserved for use at an industrial level. While it's a much bigger "quilting gadget," home quilting machines are another useful and attainable tool for quilters.
The Internet may be the biggest quilting gadget. Today, quilters have a world of threads, fabrics and other supplies at their fingertips. The Internet also is a great search tool, great at helping professionals and hobbyists find unique and helpful quilting gadgets.
Quilters can also find a wide array of free quilting patterns online. The Internet offers quilters the chance to perform a general search for quilt patterns or search for a specific pattern.
The Internet is also helpful because it affords quilters the opportunity to join quilting forums, subscribe to quilting newsletters, and to learn from frequently asked question pages. Quilters may use the Internet to join online chats with other quilters. Quilters may utilize other websites, like YouTube, to view instructional videos about quilting and special problems quilters may encounter.
The Internet is also a great place to shop for fabrics. Many quilters do not live near traditional brick and mortar fabric shops and some larger retail chains are discontinuing their fabric departments. The Internet fills that gap for quilters.
Fabric has come a long way over the years, too. With improvements in fabric manufacturing, today's cloth could conceivably last hundreds of years. Fabric manufacturers, in addition to giving quilters better quality, are also delivering more variety. Available styles and colors have diversified. If you like Japanese fabric and your local shop doesn't carry any, look online for sources. You will see how different, yet how similar, fabrics from another culture are to your own.
The Internet is a useful quilting gadget for quilters who want to sell their works. Many quilters sell their quilts or quilting services online through Internet auctions such as eBay or through their own websites and advertising on other quilting websites.
With your favorite quilting gadgets, fabric and a design in mind, you are ready to begin your quilting project. But, if you want to truly customize your design, there are several quilting gadgets that will help. Custom cut acrylic templates can help cut even the most challenging patches. Fabric pencils and colored chalks provide quilters the supplies needed to temporarily mark fabrics.
The ultimate quilting gadget is computer software that helps you custom design your own quilt and quilt blocks. A little computer literacy is all that's required. Such software will let you take a traditional quilt pattern that is pre-loaded into the program, and alter lines to create your very own creation.
Each quilter has his or her own favorite quilting gadget. Maybe your favorite is a light weight quilt frame, your old rotary cutter, or something as simple and standard as a seam ripper. No matter what your choice, there's no denying that the world is full of useful and affordable quilting gadgets that make quilting more enjoyable.
