African/native american Hip Hop Artists Dago Braves Release "kumeyaay Cool Guyz"
Shulaced Entertainment artists and San Diego's hottest rap twosome, Dago Braves, today announce the release their second album KUMEYAAY COOL GUYZ (Shulaced Entertainment / City Hall) on iTunes, bringing rhymes straight from the Sycuan Reservation to the world. Dago Braves' songs hit every topic of the American life from every aspect. Being both African American and Native American, the duo express the struggles and advantages of being born between races. The music of Dago Braves reflect their life experiences by fusing the original native rhythms of the Kumeyaay Band of Sycuan Indians with the distinct hip hop beats of the San Diego rap scene.
The songs on KUMEYAAY COOL GUYZ hit on every part of cousins Terence "Poodeezy" Brown and Mike "Odoe" Allen, who make up Dago Braves, lives. Tracks like FLY CASINO and IMA BRAVE give Dago Braves' perspective on the pride of the Tribe's success and the celebrity of Casino life amidst the San Diego community. "Everyone has their hustle," says Terence "Poodeezy" Brown, one half of Dago Braves, "the casino is our hustle. It's what's bringing the tribal family back together. Until we had the casino the tribal family was spread in every direction just trying to get by. Now we're together and we're doing alright." Then, songs like TOO SOON get more personal, talking about the trials and tribulations of new relationships and the need to take a step back.
Dago Braves recently won the Native American Music Award for Best Rap Hip Hop Recording for their debut album NATIVE AMERICAN HUSTLE, which was released in 2007. "Having the respect of our community means more to us than anything. It is a huge honor for us and we're so thankful for the acknowledgement," says Mike "Odeo" Allen. Dago Braves worked with local producers including Da Batkave, Grimmie Recs, Steve Vicious and Dave Moss on NATIVE AMERICAN HUSTLE. Podeezy and Odoe want to continue to create music to represent San Diego and the Sycuan proudly, which is why they have again collaborated with San Diego's top talent, including Da Batkave, DJ Rek, J. Songwriting Tips: Learn How to Write Songs
Songs are great ways for expressing your emotions like love, regret, grief, rage, contentment, nostalgia and happiness. People who write songs, want to share their feelings with others towards love, heartbreak, loneliness, happiness, despair, sorrow and patriotism. The successful songwriters are the ones who manage to evoke the full spectrum of associated feelings in the listener.
Listening to music is perhaps the most widespread hobby for us all. A song travels the listener through intense experiences that life has to offer for everybody in just a few minutes of listening time.
The power of a song comes from its ability to touch people's most profound, deepest feelings and make them dance, sing, cry, smile. This is why the art of songwriting requires intense creativity, skill, knowledge, orderliness and preparation.
Song lyrics usually emerges depending on the person's mood and intensity of emotions. When unhappy, people usually write slow songs with slow tempo. The opposite is also possible. If the person intensely feels powerful feelings such as love, it is more likely to write faster and enjoyable songs.
Although the emotions are predominantly used while writing song, songwriting is actually quite difficult task which requires a lot of hard-work and artistic skills. Because to be able to write things about a feeling, it necessary to know this feeling well and be filled with it.
Songwriting differs from poetry. When writing songs you can try to make it more melodic, write different lyrics for the background vocals, and even make arrangements to provide that it fits the music.
Songwriting has 3 dimensions each of which decrease the quality of the melody and the lyrics.
The first one is creating the melody over the lyrics. In this situation most important side of the song is the lyrics because it is thought and written earlier. This makes the importance of the melody secondary. Usually it has a very simple melody. There might be even forced work to get this simplicity.
The second dimension is writing the lyrics over the melody. This method is not usually preferred by the musicians because it is highly difficult to do. Finding the suitable words over a melody requires serious prosody knowledge. Unlike the first one, this one the powerful side of the song is the melody.
The third one is the ability to create both the lyrics and the melody at the same time. This is the most widely used songwriting method. The song is already created in terms of both the melody and the lyrics right after the inspiration arrives to the song writer.
No matter which method is chosen, songwriting is a difficult art to master. Because it requires special skills, music knowledge, intense creativity and sensitivity. If the songwriter fails to add enough feelings and meanings, the song will fail to reach to targeted audience.

Will 2011 be the Year for Bollywood?
After the big box-office catastrophe, Bollywood has taken a serious beating and distributors are in a miff. Pressure is now on producers to avoid release clashes. Bollywood has apparently lost revenue to the tune of a lump sum amount last year with almost 90 per cent of the films bombing at the box office.
The end of 2010 really saw the wrath of the masses as they turned down almost every movie at the box office. Rakht Charitra 2, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Mirch, Action Replayy, Isi Life Mein, Guzaarish, Tees Maar Khan, you name it and they all bombed at the box office.
What could be the logical reason behind this? Well, there aint one but many reasons for this disaster. First and foremost, wrong movie at the wrong time. Take Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey for that instance, a patriotic film in the month of December don't work, does it? Abhishek Bachchan and Ashutosh Govarikar just got nothing but cold reactions from the masses. Then, movie clashing on the same day is like a bad omen for Bollywood. And then of course, there are bad movies with foul scripts which have never worked ever in the Bollywood film fraternity.
If rumors are to be believed, it is said that, 110 films flopping out of 130 films released last year has only brought down a film's price tag. The Bollywood film fraternity has lost to a close of approximately Rs 1, 000 crore this year, with 50% of the losses being borne by production companies. Its 2011 and Bollywood is looking for some remuneration. There are a bunch of movies lined up in the pipeline which have the potential of making it big and help the box office mend.
First on the list is No One Killed Jessica. Based on a true story this one has already made the impact even before its release. This film directed by Rajkumar Gupta has Rani Mukherji and Vidya Balan playing the leads. This political thriller, said to be based on the Jessica Lall murder case. This is has become a rage and recently it's the talk of the town. No One Killed Jessica is scheduled to release on the 7th of January.
Next to follow is Dhobi Ghat, directed by Kiran Rao as this would mark her directorial debut. Along with Aamir Khan, Dhobi Ghat starcast includes Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra. Dhobi Ghat is about four characters in Mumbai whose lives are all intertwined. Since, this one comes under Aamir Khan Productions banner, this one's is sure to create waves at the box office. Dhobi Ghat is scheduled to release on 21st January.
Next on the big list is Madhur Bhandarkar' s first comedy venture Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji starring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shazahn Padamsee, Shruti Haasan and Shraddha Das. It will be interesting to see how Madhur experiments with comedy. All eyes will be on Omi Vaidya who made a name for himself in 3 Idiots.
Well, times are changing and hopefully it's a dawn of a new era for Bollywood as colossal movies hit the theatre.
