The End of a Giant's Rule - Television's Final Battle, Cyberspace! What This Means to Your Business!
To those who had only dreamed and imagined the transmission of visual images across airwaves what happens today might be kinda' hard to believe, but television has come a long way since it introduction in 1927 by Philo Farnsworth, an American inventor. Ever since that time, television became largely responsible for the way society and cultures around the world have been shaped. Especially in it's influence of commerce and the creation of the highly lucrative film industries, an industry that in history, has been key to the political and economic stability or instability of nations all over the globe. Through television, the age of industry was able skyrocket, reaching millions of target audiences while also influencing their opinions, thoughts and finally their actions. The hope of world unity in one heart, or the desire to derive profit in another heart or the hate of an entire race in another, has spread across airwaves to infect millions of it's viewers and in doing so has broken or shaped nations, sometimes in a matter of mere minutes. This is how far television has come and is testament to how undoubtedly powerful it has become.
The days of this age-old giant, however, are today numbered. The face of Television today is slowly but surely changing as opinions, technologies and innovations begin to work against in search of further improvement of the lives of humanity. This battle however, is a battle all too familiar to it, as it has over the century fought and won such skirmishes with other threats in scores. This time, however, unfortunately, Goliath has his task cut out for him. Just as is aptly fitting the old account of David and Goliath, the internet arrived on the scene in humble stature. Never at the time did the big TV players ever think that the internet would evolve and grow to the level at which it stands today, but it has and especially where it counts! In the area of Money!
The internet has now grown from strength to strength into a formidable global force today, well on it's way to toppling the Giant in deadly fashion. No clearer did this become to many experts, then when the biggest economic downturn of the century hit the world. Every fathomable industry began falling headlong and fall with deadly swift force, including industries that entire nations depended upon for sustenance...all fell, all but one: The internet. It may come as a shock to you to learn this, but during this time the big players on the internet actually began to post profits instead of losses!!! And even that in spadefuls! The Big boys Google, Facebook, Apple and other internet strongmen were in their elements all through a crisis that sent only shudders down the spines of every other business, including television network executives and businesses that revolved around Television. But Why? Why would anything on the humble internet draw all the intention from the Giant? Because only then did it become clear that power was now irreversibly shifting into the hands of the internet away from television!
What the internet was offering it's users was unique, unbiased, and distraction-free content, something that Television does NOT offer. In fact, it is this potent formula that will ultimately render TV useless and put your family and business in a far better position, unless of course, TV gets smart. But in my opinion, it's now far too late for Television. The internet gives users a platform of interactivity and search free from the confines of a time schedule. It offers businesses free & cheap 'extreme target specific' (my own term by the way) advertisement space. Why would I be distracted by a shoe sales ad if i came to a website to look for shoes? But throw that same ad in my face in the middle of Brad Pitt working up a sweat in a desert fistfight with a giant and I'll just get mad! But then again, that's just me...or is it? This was exactly the revenue that was earned by internet players during the crisis, extreme target specific advertisements. And the crisis was the time to get seen because if 'You Don't Stand Out, You're Camouflaged - Why Advertising is of Utmost Importance to Survival' - incidentally that's the title of another article of mine you must catch if this article was of help to you. It's due soon.
Far more important than what i mentioned earlier, is the internet's ability to bring value to it's users. The internet actually LEVELS the playing field out between consumers and businesses. On it, you are armed with vital information on products and services that Television does not and cannot show you within a 20 second primetime advertisement slot. What you get through the internet now is the ability to discern between bad practices, ridiculous pricing and you even get to find better alternatives! And to a business, the price to pay for such 'extremely target specific' ad space is at more than a million fractions of the TV ad cost! What a deal!
Taking things even further, the internet has now become the primary source of unfiltered information. Recent events in nations that have made attempts at suppression of free speech and media crackdowns have been thwarted through social networking sites like Facebook & Twitter. In the Philippines recently, it was the only means of communication to aid organisations and the rest of the world severe natural disasters had hit the nation.
Does Television stand a chance in this fight? Not at all and those of you who wish to stand on the fence and watch it play out will soon realise it for yourselves. Power has shifted. And the good thing about that is that power is now, coming to your hands, if you are willing to jump in and take it now! Remember, plenty of resources reside on the internet waiting to be tapped. Jack Russell Terrier - Facts You Must Know Before Adopting jack Russess Terrier
Breed Description
The Jack Russell Terrier is a small, tough and sturdy breed. A well-proportioned terrier, they usually weigh around 15-18 pounds, and stands 10-15 inches in height.
Coat
The double-coated Jack Russell Terrier has three varieties namely: broken, rough, and smooth. The broken variety has a topcoat of different lengths, or with longer hair on particular parts of the body. The rough coat has the top coat longer than the inner coat. Lastly, the smooth coat has short and stiff outer coat. Coat colors for this breed are mainly white, with tan, black, or tri-color.
Activity
The active Jack Russell Terrier ideally requires two long walks, or light jogs in a day. These hyperactive dogs are not only active outdoors, but indoors as well. They would require a lot of stimulating activities when indoors as they tend to be irritable and destructive when bored. They should also be given the chance to play and run about while they are indoors for extended periods of time.
Temperament
This vocal breed is lively and bold. Jack Russell Terriers are generally playful, affectionate with family, and love attention. They need to have a job or training as a form of exercise. These very energetic dogs tend to be highly excitable. But, they tend to be quarrelsome around other dogs. So, socialization and training should be done first before having them around with other dogs.
Overview
Originating in England during the 19th century, the Jack Russell Terrier is highly adept in burrowing and digging into dens and foxholes. They were named after the hunting enthusiast, Reverend John Russell, being the first person to have them bred for fox hunting.
Care
The three coat varieties of the Jack Russell Terrier are easy to groom. Combing and brushing is required regularly with firm bristle brush. Bathing should only be done when absolutely necessary. If these dogs are to join the show ring, owners should ideally strip the coat.
Training
The smart and intelligent Jack Russell Terrier is able to acquire new skills and learn new tricks easily. They are highly responsive to basic training, yet may be hard for the average dog owner to train.
The Jack Russell Terrier tends to be hyperactive to the extent that they become unmanageable. They need to be consistently trained through their formative years. Harsh and heavy-handed criticisms should never be applied in training this breed, or any other breed of dogs for that matter. It is advised that training should be done in 2-3 sessions daily, keeping it short and brief. Combine training with play, and these dogs will respond very well.
Character
The hardy-looking Jack Russell Terrier is generally outgoing, and with a keen appearance. They are naturally inquisitive. They are vocal, yet never yappy. This fearless dog is very brave, which appears to be unaware of their small size.
